Being born and raised in Buffalo, New York had a huge influence on my love for polkas.  As a child, I remember my parents being huge fans of polka music, and tuning into numerous polka shows in and around Buffalo. My father was also a polka promoter and took me to drop off flyers for an upcoming dance to a local polka show. I was hooked, and soon volunteered on that show. It wasn’t long after that I submitted an audition tape and landed my first polka show on WNIA in Buffalo. I remained on the air in Buffalo for 33 years until I moved with my wife Lynne to Cleveland Ohio. That POLKAMOTION radio program was the longest continually running polka show in Buffalo. But it was more than just a polka show. It became a meeting place for polka musicians and plenty of on-air antics. I was lucky enough to meet my wife Lynne at Seven Springs in 2005. She became "Dr. Lynna" and my on-air partner for the last 4 years of the program. Polkas have brought me years of happiness, as a DJ, a polka musician, and in allowing me to meet my wife at a polka festival. I know there is plenty more happiness in the future and here on the Jammer!
