Linda Lee & Wild Bill “Cookin’ With Polkas” “Cookin’ With
Polkas” with Linda Lee and Wild Bill have been DJs on various local stations for a combined total of 50 years in broadcasting. Linda Lee began her radio career back in 1979 on WOAP in Owosso, MI. She first met Bill in 1985 when he and his family moved to Frankenmuth, MI. At the time, he was working at a local radio station and she would come in and record various commercials and musical events. Time moved on and so did Bill, to a town called Midland, Michigan. They re-connected in 1998 when he moved just a few blocks away from Linda Lee. Impressed with his talent, she asked him to join her band and also invited Bill on her polka show as co-host. The “Saturday Morning Polka Show” aired on WOAP until 2004 when Michigan Catholic Radio bought the station and dropped all polka shows from the lineup. “Cookin’ With Polkas” was one of the first shows to debut on a new Internet polka radio site called 247PolkaHeaven.com when it opened in 2000. Their program continued until the spring of 2002 when scheduling difficulties forced them to give up the show. In the meantime, Linda & Bill continued airing polka shows on both AM & FM radio. During this time, they began receiving e-mails asking them if they would ever return to the Internet. Unfortunately, their schedules at the time made this impossible. The situation improved in 2005, and after continuing to receive e-mails from listeners asking them if they would ever return to the Internet, Linda e-mailed Program Director Jim Kucharski about bringing her Internet show to the The Jammer Network. The rest is history.
