Mary Lou Brock is one of the newest and youngest IJ’s to hit the polka scene. Residing in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Mary Lou has always been involved in her Polish heritage, and continues to promote polka music in a variety of medias. In 2000-01, Mary Lou was the Pulaski Queen for the Pulaski Days Celebration (www.pulaskidays.org) in Grand Rapids. Her reign allowed her to remain directly involved in promoting the music she holds dear to her heart, while attending many Polish cultural events around the Midwest. Mary Lou has also been writing for The Polka News for 5+ years. Now, she is bringing her love for polkas to you with her show: “Mary Lou’s Polka Party”. Her first attempt at being a polka IJ came with her debut over www.247polkaheaven.com on August 7, 2003 while in her senior year, completing a teaching degree at Aquinas College. The show aired for 1 1/2 years on 247PolkaHeaven before moving to The Jammer Network on January 6, 2005. The drive to promote her heritage and polka music to the next generation was the motivation to start her own program on that network for all to enjoy. Now, Mary Lou brings her energy and enthusiasm for the polka industry to The Jammer Network! If you’re looking to party, log on & have a good time with your IJ hostess: Mary Lou Brock, and you’ll be partying “All Night Long!” On March 12, 2006, Mary Lou was selected as recipient of the very first IJ/DJ Award by the United States Polka Association (USPA). She also won this award in 2007.
